We went to Boston to attend the ASME TurboExpo Conference 2023! This 5-day event brings together over 2000 attendees from academia and industry to advance the field of power generation and propulsion and bring it closer to net-zero target. Pawel will present our work on:
The Role of Turbulence Transport in Mechanical Energy Budgets
which was done in collaboration with Davide Lengani, and Daniele Simoni from the University of Genova and Andrew Wheeler from the University of Cambridge. Our work was well received by the reviewers and was given a journal recommendation!
In this work we are showing that, despite commonly made assumptions, turbulent transport terms are not negligible in compressor flows. This effect becomes more significant as the inflow becomes more unstable and this has an effect on stagnation pressure measurements that would be typically used to estimate cascade loss.
