The Role of Turbulence Transport in Mechanical Energy Budgets
discusses the difference between commonly used entropy and stagnation pressure based loss coefficients.
For the cases considered in the paper, these coefficients should show very similar results both quantitatively and qualitatively. We show against the common belief that these coefficients differ significantly and through a detailed analysis we explain how this difference is driven by the turbulent transport terms (which are typically assumed to be negligible).
